The JDrew Creations team are basking in the sunshine on the warmest day of the year, and reflecting on the British desire to make the most of the sun when it shines. We may have a reputation for going lobster-pink at the drop of a sunshade, but an unpredictable island weather system means we have no idea when the next cloud will appear over the horizon. Not for us leisurely plans of weekend BBQs – it’ll probably be hailing. Best make the most of it now!

People buy people

Everyone in business knows that you tend to work with the people you ‘click’ with. We travel hundreds, thousands of miles to meet new people and generate potential business and collaborations – so those relationships aren’t always going to end up being face to face. The internet is a wonderful thing, but how do you carry on developing that business relationship safely? You’re unlikely to make your business contacts into Facebook friends (do you really want them to be bombarded with photos of your cat?), email can be impersonal, Twitter and LinkedIn can be too public. There’s huge value in siloed, private networks like Ambix, where the only people using the platform are part of your organisation (whether that’s a professional body, an industry cluster, or an educational establishment). You already have something in common if you meet on an Ambix network – that’s a huge time-saver in building valuable, productive business relationships.
